The newer batch of Apple'sMacBook Pros all have a standard issue if it is shipped with a standard SATA hard disk drive.
You get 1.5Gbps transfer rate only, despite having a SATA-II capable hard disk. The recent update, however, addresses that.
Don't ask us why this 3.0Gbps transfer mode was disabled in MacBook Pro, it was enabled on those that came with SSD. The new MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.7 has a size of3.35MB and requires OS X 10.5.7 to be installed.
